An average hourly tote is frequently between $22 and $25 per hour for the majority of the games and can run even higher at certain times and casino locations. Basic wages are supplemented by tips, or toke. Casinos employ both full-time and part-time dealers full-time positions usually include benefits. Dealers spend a considerable amount of time on their feet and must be able to maintain high energy and concentration levels. Thus, dealers may work on a shift schedule. Customer traffic and demand, and therefore dealer shift scheduling, generally peaks from late afternoon through midnight. Dealers often run a number of different table games which include poker, craps, roulette, blackjack and some of the specialty, or carnival, games! Dealers work in casinos that are usually open 7 days per week and 24 hours per day.
